Born in Mto wa Mbu, Tanzania, Seif has been living in Port Fairy with his two boys for the past 6 years.
Along with Catherine Ryan, Seif Sakate created the Bandarri Project in 2014 with the idea of supporting disadvantaged students with their studies, but soon became the much bigger project of building a primary school.
In April, 2015 a group of 17 volunteers from Port Fairy, Melbourne and Queensland travelled to Mto wa Mbu, Tanzania to build the first phase of the project, a kindergarten and hope to open the Primary School in 2020.
