Gather your friends and family, pack a picnic and spend the day outside - we share with you our favourite spots in and around Port Fairy to spend time.
Family celebration, under cover picnic areas with lots of place for the kids to explore and run and a large playground, and just around the corner form Griffiths island for a stroll out to the lighthouse. Free BBQS. Toilets.
Adventure picnic combining fishing, slide down the famous slide, a stroll along the Yambuk lake or beach walk and a play on the playground. Free BBQs. Toilets.
Tea Tree Lake Mortlake
Perfect picnic spots are hard to find, but Tea Tree Lake is a great place to relax for an afternoon with the kids. The eight-acres of parklands around the lake feature an historic rotunda, an early botanic garden, summerhouse and kiosk and a small pier out over the lake for fishing from. The site is home to a variety of native animals, including more than 100 species of birds and the lake is well stocked with fish and yabbies. Toilets available.
Budj Bim National Park
The picnic ground has 2 sheltered BBQ areas. Short walk to the cave, Lake Surprise volcanic crater lookouts, Crater walk & rim walk. Lots of koalas and wildlife. Toilets.
Fun playground setting in Peterborough. Tennis court. Picnic tables, BBQ and toilets available. Great views over the river mouth and ocean.
