PORT FAIRY LABOUR DAY / FOLK FESTIVAL LONG WEEKEND EVENTS

Port Fairy is set to entertain this long weekend with the long-awaited arrival of the Port Fairy Folk Festival Concert Series (SOLD OUT), the first ever Oak & Anchor Music Festival, a weekend of Live Music at the Star of West Hotel and the last ever Limestone Garden Party.

The fun, vibrancy and colour will extend beyond the live music with a free family friendly village Program. Fiddlers Green & Railway place comes alive with music, art, performance and markets.

The FREE weekend village program includes drumming workshops facilitated by Tom Richardson (Music Director of the Find Your Voice All-Abilities Choir), face painting by the colour angel, craft giveaways, and giant inflatable rides for the kids on Railway place.

So, regardless of how you prefer to enjoy your Folkie, the fun is accessible to everyone!

Saturday & Sunday on Fiddlers Green

FREE Drum Circle with Tom Richardson, 2.30pm - 3.30pm

All ages & abilities welcome! Humans are the only species on earth who can spontaneously join together in rhythm & there are few activities more infectious than beating out grooves with new friends. Together we'll take a journey around the world that is guaranteed to leave you feeling goooood. No musical experience necessary, equipment provided or BYO drum/shaker/percussion/smiles! 

FREE Kids Craft & Woodwork kit Giveaways, 10am - 2pm

Join Marion and the Men's Shed at Fiddlers Green to collect a FREE craft or wood kit to make here or take home.

FREE Face Painting, 10am - 2pm

The Colour Angel will provide the kids with a range of face paint designs, beautiful princesses, butterflies and fairies, scary vampires, monsters and dinosaurs, cute puppies, unicorns and tigers are just some of the designs available to choose from! Do you have a design that’s not on the list? Put the Colour Angel to the test - what would you like painted on your face?

 

Saturday at Railway Place 

Port Fairy Community Market, 8.30am - 1pm

The vibrant Port Fairy Community Market brings together a selection of locally grown produce and handmade products. The large variety of quality stalls brings something to tempt everyone. So whether you are looking for a unique gift for someone special or a delicious treat for yourself, the market is sure to please. Fresh fruit and veggies, bread, cakes, cheese, jewellery, candles, plants, flowers, preserves, clothes, seeds, salami, sauces, eggs, lots of delicious food and coffee and more. COVID19 guidelines in place.

 

Sunday at Railway Place

FREE Inflatable Fun, 10am - 2pm

Bounce your kids to Railway Place and enjoy this family favourite! With jumping castles, a giant slide and an inflatable maze, your kids will be amused for hours. They can play on the inflatable activities as many times as they like. Parental supervision is required at all times.

Port Fairy Folk Festival Concert Series – SOLD OUT

The Port Fairy Folk Festival will return in March with a mini-series, providing a little festival for big music lovers. Taking place across the iconic long weekend, Friday 5 to Monday 8 March, the uplifting Port Fairy Folk Festival March Concert Series will celebrate homegrown folk talent, and includes Kutcha Edwards, Nigel Wearne, Ruth Hazleton with Fiona Steele & Luke Plumb, Louisa Wise, Charm of Finches, Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission, Kee’Ahn and an all-star line-up in the special event Keep the Circle Unbroken. Oak & Anchor Music Festival

Port Fairy Art Galleries Open Studios

Port Fairy artists who are in the Port Fairy Art Map have joined together to open their galleries and studios to the public over the long weekend. Spend some time strolling around Port Fairy visiting the various galleries and studios in town. A hard copy of the Art Map is available for free from the Port Fairy Visitor information Centre.

One of Port Fairy's most beloved pubs is providing free Live Music, featuring: The Settlement, Michelles Velocity, Mitch & Jackson, Jack the Fox, Christo & Ben Cross, Florian Lindemann, Matt Price, The Borderers, Reece Crimmin & The Suffringtons. Limestone Garden Party, 1pm - 10.45pm

You're invited to join us for the last-ever Limestone Garden Party over Folkie Weekend, featuring an excellent line-up of local talent: Flo, Kinnon, GUB, Flynn Gurry, Southern Ocean Sea Band, DJ Cheese Bros & Guests. Early-bird tickets $45; kids free.

Monday 8 March

Labour Day Mortlake Market, 9am – 1pm

All roads lead to the Labour Day Mortlake Market. Mortlake makes a point of showcasing the amazing local fresh produce that is grown or made on our doorstep. Experience local musicians ‘Witch 3’ as you find yourself enjoying a BBQ thanks to award-winning Brendan Bouchier’s Butchers, before enjoying a ‘Coffee from the girls’. One lucky person will even win their Lucky Market Day Prize!
