The inaugural Port Fairy Vintage weekend has arrived in 2018, and is the perfect chance to celebrate all things vintage and historic set against the picturesque backdrop of Port Fairy on Victoria's South West Coast.
The Rockin’ Port Fairy Vintage Weekend will kick off with a book launch by local Author and volunteer tour guide Leonie Needham, a Rock n Roll dance and an ABBA tribute Movie!
The following day will feature a Grand Final Breakfast fit for a champion, a vintage themed village market, a vintage truck & bike display, antique valuations and the launching of the historic lifeboat along the Moyne River.
Begin your Sunday with a History Tour of the town or climb to the top of the Griffiths island Lighthouse, a bluestone relic built in 1859.
Sunday will also feature a family picnic on Fiddlers Green, giving your family the opportunity to dress in vintage or retro, the day will feature live music and dancing, "Betty Booth" a vintage caravan photo booth for those sneaky photos along with vintage car, truck and motorbike displays.
Kabooom. Hold your ears folks, on Sunday afternoon the largest of the battery hill cannons will be fired up and let go in anger.
The weekend will also feature the "icons of Port Fairy' exhibition at the Port Fairy Museum. An exciting exhibition of Famous Australians born in Port Fairy, but who are they?
A Famous goal kicking AFL Footballer?
A Melbourne Cup winning Jockey?
A state Premier?
A cyclist?
An outstanding mathematician?
An Australian cricket Captain?
The first female Victorian member of parliament?
A Logie Winner?
There will also be artifacts from the Port Fairy Museums own collection and from other galleries that have not been on display in Port Fairy for the past 100 years.
